Healthcare Deputy General Counsel

Job Summary

Leading the legal work for healthcare companies, the full-time remote Healthcare Deputy General Counsel will manage regulatory, privacy, and commercial legal tasks while working closely with internal teams and outside advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory and privacy compliance, including HIPAA and state health privacy laws, across the healthcare portfolio
• Negotiate key commercial agreements and analyze healthcare-related legal issues, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes
• Manage and develop a team of lawyers, setting priorities and reviewing their work to ensure high standards and effective outcomes

Required qualifications

• J.D. and currently licensed to practice in good standing in the U.S
• 12+ years of healthcare legal experience, with significant in-house experience
• At least 5 years working with health tech or digital healthcare companies, focusing on regulatory and privacy compliance
• Experience managing and developing other lawyers, including setting priorities and reviewing their work
• Deep understanding of healthcare fraud and abuse rules, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law
