Home Health Precertification Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient service delivery in Home Health and Hospice, the full-time Intake and Precertification Specialist will manage patient intake, insurance authorization, and administrative coordination of referrals while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the intake process for new patient referrals, including insurance verification and scheduling assessments
• Serve as the primary contact for patients and healthcare professionals regarding referral and authorization status
• Obtain and document authorization numbers using electronic systems, ensuring compliance with payer requirements

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in insurance verification, authorization, or healthcare intake
• Knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCs related to home health and hospice services
• Familiarity with the EPIC platform or similar electronic systems
• Experience with medical terminology and third-party payer requirements
