Hospice Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and proactive, the remote Hospice Billing Specialist will manage the billing process for hospice claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Medicare and other payor requirements while collaborating with clinical and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate hospice claims for various payors, ensuring compliance with billing procedures
• Identify and resolve billing edits, claim rejections, and payment discrepancies while monitoring payments and reconciling accounts
• Collaborate with branch leadership and clinical teams to address documentation gaps and support audit readiness

Required qualifications

• At least 1 year of healthcare billing experience, including hospice billing experience
• Working knowledge of Medicare hospice billing and reimbursement requirements
• Familiarity with Notices of Election (NOEs), hospice levels of care, and claim submission processes
• Experience using EMR systems and healthcare billing software
• High school diploma or equivalent
