Hospital Operator

Job Summary

To facilitate effective communication within the medical center, the casual Hospital Operator will work remotely for 20 hours per pay period, primarily during evening shifts and every other weekend, managing incoming calls, responding to emergencies, and providing patient information services.

Key responsibilities:

• Routes internal and external calls to appropriate departments and staff members
• Responds to medical emergencies by notifying the appropriate team according to established procedures
• Manages communication workflows for incoming patient requests and provides phone coverage for internal departments

Required qualifications:

• One year of related work experience or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in a multi-line environment is preferred
• Experience with medical answering services is preferred
• Proficiency in using Microsoft or similar Windows-based software systems
• Basic understanding of medical terminology is helpful
