Human-Centered Design Specialist
Job Summary
To support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Human-Centered Design Specialist IV will manage the development of the Magnify Report, conduct stakeholder interviews, and synthesize qualitative research to provide actionable insights into complex healthcare programs, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of the Magnify Report, ensuring comprehensive documentation of program context, user needs, and actionable recommendations
- Conduct expert and stakeholder interviews to gather insights on VA programs and translate findings into clear, executive-ready narratives
- Apply human-centered design research methods to synthesize qualitative data and develop relevant HCD artifacts, such as personas and journey maps
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Design, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field
- 5-7+ years of experience in human-centered design, qualitative research, or healthcare research
- Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or complex health-related initiatives
- Strong skills in qualitative research, stakeholder interviews, and professional writing
- Ability to independently manage research activities and deliverables with limited oversight
