Human-Centered Design Specialist
Job Summary
To support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Human-Centered Design Specialist IV - Technical Design will lead end-to-end human-centered design activities, translating user needs into accessible digital experiences for technical products and platforms while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for technical solutions, including Microsoft Power Platform applications and SharePoint experiences
- Conduct user research and synthesize findings into actionable design recommendations and HCD artifacts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with user requirements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Design, UX Design, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in human-centered design or a related discipline
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
- Strong experience in leading complex digital product design efforts and conducting user research
- Technical fluency in enterprise platforms and understanding of accessibility principles
