Job Summary
To support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client, a part-time IBM COBOL Developer will assess data needs, develop and execute system testing plans, and perform troubleshooting and programming analysis, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Assess data needs and design requirements for system changes and enhancements
- Create, update, unit test, and maintain IBM COBOL programs and associated documentation
- Consult with technical personnel to clarify program intent and suggest changes based on system analysis
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least four years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language
- Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities
- Must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI)
- Experience with CICS and familiarity with IRS processing systems is preferred
