IBM i System/36 Developer
Job Summary
To support the modernization of legacy IBM System/36 applications, experienced IBM i System/36 Developers will work remotely to analyze existing applications, convert legacy components to modern IBM i technologies, and validate functionality through testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing System/36 applications and convert OCL programs to IBM i Control Language (CL)
- Convert RPG II applications to RPG IV / ILE RPG while ensuring business functionality and application integrity
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing activities
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of IBM midrange development experience
- 5+ years of System/36 development and support experience
- Strong experience with Operational Control Language (OCL) and RPG II
- Hands-on experience converting OCL to CL and RPG II to RPG IV / ILE RPG
- Experience with IBM i application modernization initiatives
