Illinois Licensed Associate General Counsel

Job Summary

To support a growing behavioral health organization, the full-time salaried Illinois Licensed Associate General Counsel will manage regulatory, HIPAA privacy, and transactional legal work while collaborating closely with clinical operations and ensuring compliance across multiple states.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary resource on behavioral health and healthcare regulatory matters
• Research and interpret licensing and certification requirements, providing practical guidance to operational teams
• Support mergers and affiliations, including due diligence and document review

Required qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active law license in good standing in Illinois or one of the operating states
• Healthcare regulatory experience, ideally in behavioral health or substance use
• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience as a Privacy Officer
• Some transactional or corporate experience with a willingness to learn
