Job Summary
To support oncology services, the full-time Illinois Licensed Cancer Registrar will identify trends in cancer incidence, abstract data into the electronic registry, and coordinate long-term follow-up for patients in a fully remote role.
Key responsibilities
- Abstract cancer-related information and submit required reporting to state and national databases
- Analyze cancer patient data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards through audits
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide insights and support research initiatives
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management
- 2+ years of abstracting experience in a CoC approved cancer program
- National Cancer Registrars' Association (NCRA) certification
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification
- Strong understanding of cancer data collection and medical coding
