Illinois Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Illinois Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will perform inpatient chart reviews to ensure accurate DRG assignment and documentation, while collaborating with healthcare professionals and providing education on clinical documentation integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of inpatient accounts to evaluate documentation accuracy and clinical validity
- Develop and issue compliant physician queries to clarify diagnoses and treatment plans
- Support organizational initiatives related to quality reporting, CDI program development, and regulatory compliance
Required qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) within 1 year of hire
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) within 1 year of hire
- Doctorate in Medicine or relevant college diplomas in Health Information Management and Nursing
- Experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and coding
