Job Summary
To support clinical documentation integrity, the part-time Illinois Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will perform ambulatory chart reviews, provide coding education, and ensure compliance with coding practices, working remotely as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Review the quality and completeness of diagnostic and E/M codes, focusing on documentation improvement
- Provide coding education and feedback to medical staff and coding team members regarding ICD10CM and CPT coding
- Assist facility staff in meeting documentation requirements to accurately reflect patient care provided
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent coding certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding practices
- Experience in auditing and providing coding education
- Ability to adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements for code assignment
