Job Summary
To ensure compliance with coding guidelines and support optimal reimbursement, the full-time remote Illinois Licensed Coding Auditor will review and validate coding assignments for Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) coding while collaborating with coding and billing teams to maintain high coding integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Perform data quality reviews on inpatient and outpatient records to verify adherence to coding and charging guidelines
- Provide coding quality information and statistical reports, analyzing trends for the Coding Manager
- Communicate and educate Medical Staff regarding ICD-10/CPT code assignments and related clinical questions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials
- Five or more years of acute care facility coding experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Solventum 360
- Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment
