Illinois Licensed Field Abstractor
Job Summary
To support the HEDIS Effectiveness Data and Information Set project, the part-time Illinois Licensed Field Abstractor will perform comprehensive reviews of medical records and ensure compliance with NCQA guidelines while working remotely under the supervision of the HEDIS Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
- Obtain and review medical records from various healthcare facilities while adhering to established procedures
- Data enter and document all assigned abstracts into the applicable software system, maintaining a less than 5% error rate
- Collaborate with the HEDIS Coordinator and Quality Improvement Specialists to discuss ongoing HEDIS efforts and resolve any issues
Required qualifications
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with data entry and proficiency in software applications such as Word and Excel
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
- Auditing experience is preferred
