Illinois Licensed Internal Nurse Auditor

Job Summary

To support the Revenue Cycle Administration Department, the full-time Internal Nurse Auditor will review patient charge statements, identify unbilled services, and defend documented services against third-party payor challenges, with a flexible remote work arrangement requiring occasional onsite presence.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient charge statements to identify and defend services not properly captured on bills
• Perform data analysis to ensure record accuracy and report findings to management
• Assist in establishing and implementing internal control policies to ensure regulatory compliance

Required qualifications

• B.S.N. degree required
• Active RN license in the State of Illinois
• 1-2 years of experience auditing medical records or medical claims
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant computer systems
• Ability to serve as a resource for staff and temporary workers in the department
