Job Summary

Reviewing patient charge statements, the full-time Internal Nurse Auditor will identify unbilled services and defend properly documented services while working in a flexible remote environment and committing to onsite visits as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient charge statements to identify and defend services that are challenged by third-party payors
• Perform data analysis to verify accuracy of records and provide reports on findings to management
• Assist in establishing policies and procedures for internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations

Required qualifications

• B.S.N. degree required
• RN license in the State of Illinois required
• 1-2 years of experience auditing medical records or medical claims
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and applicable computer systems
• Ability to serve as a resource for staff and temporary workers in the department
