Job Summary
To ensure all pre-anesthesia requirements are fulfilled for surgical patients, the full-time Illinois Licensed Pre-Anesthesia RN will manage patient assessments, provide education, and act as an advocate throughout the pre-surgical process in an onsite role.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure completion of pre-anesthesia requirements and maintain communication with surgical teams and patients
- Perform assessments, including medication reconciliation and health history reviews, prior to surgical procedures
- Conduct Pre-Day calls to reinforce dietary instructions and answer patient inquiries regarding anesthesia and surgery
Required qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Illinois
- College Diploma in Nursing
- Experience in nursing, particularly in pre-anesthesia or surgical settings
- Knowledge of anesthesia protocols, medications, and contraindications
- Ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams and patients
