Job Summary
Supporting the Detroit, MI team in a full-time remote capacity, the Import Specialist will manage customer data processing and assist with the movement of goods across international borders while ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the customer service liaison, resolving issues related to billing and shipment tracking
- Process Customs and Participating Government Agency entries for the clearance of goods into the United States
- Maintain communication with customers, carriers, and vendors to coordinate shipments and ensure compliance with regulations
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous customs brokerage experience
- Familiarity with client submission requirements and clearance of specific commodities
- Ability to stay updated on regulations and guidelines affecting customs brokerage
- Willingness to complete required courses related to dangerous goods and export regulations within twelve months
