Information Security Engineer
Job Summary
Proactive and detail-oriented, the full-time remote Information Security Engineer will support federal cybersecurity operations by managing security documentation, conducting vulnerability assessments, and monitoring for unauthorized activity within a complex healthcare IT environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide security management deliverables, including compliance documentation and risk register maintenance
- Support vulnerability scans and generate reports with recommended corrective actions
- Monitor and report on unauthorized activity, assisting with incident response activities
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Five plus years of relevant experience in information security or cybersecurity engineering
- Understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and policies (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53/37)
- Experience working with Chief ISSOs or Security Operations in federal or enterprise environments
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and remediation strategies
