Information System Security Officer

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Interior's Cybersecurity Program, the full-time remote Information System Security Officer (ISSO) will manage security assessments, develop compliance reports, and coordinate security controls for customer information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop functional and technical requirements while serving as a point of contact for security issues
• Prepare and update compliance reports in alignment with FISMA and other security mandates
• Manage security controls and conduct security assessments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information

Required qualifications

• Public Trust clearance
• 5-8 years of direct experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs as an ISSO
• Experience drafting FISMA-related artifacts, including system security plans and incident response plans
• Knowledge of NIST Special Publications and cybersecurity tools such as Tenable and Qualys
• Experience in continuous monitoring of security controls and conducting security assessments or audits
