Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Inpatient Coder with at least three years of experience, who will review hospital patient medical records and assign accurate diagnostic or procedural codes (ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs) to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key responsibilities:

• Apply coding classification standards and guidelines to medical record documentation for accurate coding
• Submit provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies and perform quality assessments of records
• Research errors or missing documentation to ensure accurate coding processes and abstract appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes

Required qualifications:

• AHIMA/AAPC Credentials
• Three or more years of inpatient medical and surgical coding experience, including for trauma centers and teaching facilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Ability to maintain a 95% QA accuracy rate and meet production expectations
• Experience working in a remote environment
