Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Inpatient Coding Auditor, Senior Associate to perform remote audits of medical records, ensuring accurate coding in compliance with regulatory guidelines, while maintaining flexible hours and opportunities for career advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits of medical record documentation to verify the accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes, adhering to official coding guidelines
• Achieve established productivity and quality performance standards while cross-training to review multiple claim types
• Assist in training and mentoring new Coding Auditors, providing ongoing education and support

Required qualifications

• 1+ years of active professional credentials through AHIMA or AAPC (CPC, CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT) required
• 3+ years of experience coding inpatient or outpatient claims
• Proficiency in medical record auditing and coding methodologies, including ICD-10 CM, ICD-10-PCS, APC, ASC, HCPCS, and CPT
• Thorough understanding of APR-DRG, AP-DRG, and MS-DRG systems
• Demonstrated experience in medical record coding and auditing
