Insurance Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

To support the financial operations of a reinsurance company, the remote Lead Finance Specialist - Insurance Accounting will be responsible for preparing financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and Statutory Accounting, conducting account reconciliations, and supporting internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including detailed analysis and supplemental disclosures
• Develop and maintain periodic NAIC financial statement schedules and regulatory filings
• Execute routine journal entries and account reconciliations for both GAAP and STAT accounting

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
• Experience in Insurance Accounting and Statutory Accounting (STAT) is required
• Prior experience in public accounting is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and resolve issues
• Established project management skills
