Insurance Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure financial clearance for patients, the full-time Insurance Authorization Specialist will obtain authorizations for elective infusions and injections, utilizing payor resources and collaborating with clinical teams while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the EPIC system to manage workloads and prioritize authorization requests
• Verify authorization requirements and submit requests through insurance portals or direct communication with payors
• Review medical documentation and communicate effectively with clinics to gather necessary information for authorizations

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in a medical environment, or an Associate's degree with 1 year of experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
• Understanding of authorization processes and insurance guidelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience using the EPIC system for managing patient information and authorizations
