Insurance Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Insurance Authorization Specialist will verify patient eligibility and benefits, read clinical notes, and create authorizations as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits for insurance coverage
• Read and understand clinical notes and patient charts to determine authorization needs
• Create and manage authorizations in accordance with insurance guidelines

Required qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in an authorization department, insurance billing, or a similar role
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
• Proficient computer skills and ability to work with electronic health records
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration within a team environment
