Insurance Billing Assistant

Job Summary

Performing insurance billing and collection activities, the full-time remote Insurance Billing Assistant will verify the accuracy of insurance records and claims, contact insurance companies, and ensure timely payments for physician services.

Key responsibilities:

• Conducts follow-up on insurance billing and collection duties to ensure timely payment of physician charges
• Reviews patient accounts for accuracy in insurance information, eligibility, and invoice resolution
• Utilizes Epic and other tools for claim submission, status inquiries, and authorization processes

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent certification
• Two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a medical collection setting
• Familiarity with medical terminology and related computer systems
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred
