Insurance Billing Specialist
Job Summary
Owning the entire billing cycle, the fully remote Insurance Billing Specialist will verify eligibility, submit claims, manage denials, and resolve aged accounts while supporting PST/CST working hours.
Key responsibilities
- Verify eligibility and conduct benefit investigations through payer portals and outreach
- Submit, track, and follow up on claims to expedite reimbursement and minimize denials
- Review EOBs and manage the resolution of claims through rebilling, appeals, or escalations
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional insurance billing and eligibility experience
- Hands-on experience with durable medical equipment (DME) billing
- Fluency in medical coding and compliance standards (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10)
- Proficiency with Brightree and NikoHealth; familiarity with other billing/EMR systems is a plus
- Ability to communicate billing details clearly and empathetically to patients and providers
