Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing practice, the full-time Insurance Follow-Up Specialist will manage patient accounts through insurance payors to ensure proper reimbursement, working remotely from Jacksonville, FL.

Key responsibilities

• Review insurance denials and determine appropriate action steps for payment recovery
• Appeal denied claims for reasons such as lack of authorization or medical necessity
• Communicate with payors via phone, email, and portals to resolve claims and discrepancies

Required qualifications

• Minimum of two years of medical claims processing experience
• Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits and denial reasons
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Windows-based programs like Word and Excel
• Experience with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and other commercial insurance companies
• Familiarity with Workman's Compensation carriers
