Insurance Registration Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Registration & Insurance Specialist will conduct detailed reviews of patient insurance information, verify active coverage, and manage both pre- and post-billing activities to ensure accurate payments and patient care outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex registration and insurance reviews for out-of-network exceptions while ensuring timely follow-up with payers
• Coordinate with clinical staff and revenue cycle teams to educate patients on their insurance plans and financial responsibilities
• Monitor work queues and email inbox for timely resolution of accounts and maintain accurate documentation within the system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of related insurance experience and 2 years of patient account experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Previous experience with hospital information systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic understanding of health insurance types, coverage verification, and medical terminology
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy protections
