Insurance Registration Specialist

Job Summary

To support a world-class academic healthcare system, the full-time remote Insurance Registration Specialist will conduct detailed reviews of patient insurance information, verify coverage, and manage billing activities while collaborating with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed insurance reviews and initiate GAP exceptions while ensuring accurate clinical routing and timely follow-up with payers
• Coordinate with revenue cycle teams to educate patients on their financial responsibilities and ensure proper documentation is completed
• Monitor work queues and email communications for timely resolution of accounts and maintain accurate records in the system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of related insurance experience and 2 years of patient account experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with hospital information systems
• Basic understanding of health insurance types and coverage verification processes
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
