Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Summary

To support the financial clearance process, the full-time remote Insurance Verification Specialist will verify insurance eligibility and benefits, ensure authorization requirements are met, and communicate effectively with patients and medical staff regarding coverage and financial responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled and unscheduled services to ensure compliance with payor requirements
• Calculates and communicates patients' estimated financial responsibilities for scheduled services
• Educates patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities while maintaining accurate documentation

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0-1 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle
• Strong knowledge of insurance plans and authorization requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare information systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
