Job Summary
To support its law firm clients, the full-time Research Specialist will conduct high-quality legal research with a focus on intellectual property matters, utilizing various electronic research platforms in a fully remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth legal, business, and other research using both legal and non-legal information resources
- Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and actionable reports while performing effective reference interviews
- Evaluate and select appropriate information sources and tools to meet diverse research needs
Required Qualifications:
- MLS (Master of Library Science) or equivalent experience in legal research; J.D. preferred
- 5-7 years of professional research experience in a law firm or research-focused organization
- Strong working knowledge of legal and business information sources and online database searching
- Demonstrated experience using Lexis, Westlaw, and other core legal research platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
