Inventory Cost Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of accountants, the full-time remote Inventory Cost Accounting Manager will own the accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS), ensuring accurate financial reporting and a clean monthly close while collaborating with various internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own inventory and COGS accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and financial reporting across multiple warehouses and manufacturing partners
• Deliver timely monthly inventory close and provide Finance leadership with insights on COGS drivers, including reserves and cost variances
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants while improving inventory accounting processes through collaboration and automation

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in inventory and cost accounting within consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or direct-to-consumer sectors
• Hands-on knowledge of inventory valuation, COGS, and related reconciliations
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX controls in a public company environment
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems and inventory management applications
• Proven track record of improving accounting processes through automation and data-driven workflows
