Investment Accountant

Job Summary

To support investment accounting operations, the full-time remote Investment Accountant will provide accurate accounting, analysis, and reporting for the General Account investment portfolio across various reporting frameworks, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform investment accounting for General Account assets under Statutory, GAAP, Tax, and Management reporting frameworks
• Research complex investment transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with standards and guidance
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including accounting for fixed income securities and alternative investments

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of investment accounting experience within an insurance company or similar environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of insurance investment accounting and financial reporting under Statutory and GAAP frameworks
• Experience with fixed income securities, structured products, and mortgage loans
• Knowledge of NAIC investment classifications and insurance regulatory reporting requirements
