IT Infrastructure Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support business objectives, the full-time IT Infrastructure Design Engineer will design secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions, translating technical requirements into architecture designs while primarily working remotely with some travel to the Chicago, IL area.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments, including networks, servers, and storage
• Produce technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps while defining infrastructure standards and reference architectures
• Evaluate technology options and embed security measures into designs, ensuring compliance with enterprise technology strategy

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Five or more years of experience in infrastructure engineering, architecture, or design
• Demonstrated experience designing hybrid infrastructure solutions in medium-to-large enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation
• Experience with at least one major public cloud platform and understanding of infrastructure-as-code and automation concepts
