Job Summary
To support infrastructure and operations teams, the contract-to-hire IT Technical Writer (Knowledge Capture) will translate technical systems into clear documentation for new hires, working remotely with potential onsite meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate technical vocabulary, systems, and processes into clear documentation for new team members
- Shadow engineers and administrators to capture undocumented operational knowledge
- Interview subject matter experts to gather and validate operational knowledge
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years technical writing or IT documentation experience
- Hands-on experience authoring technical documentation, including SOPs and runbooks
- Base understanding of enterprise infrastructure and/or IT systems
- Self-directed, proactive worker able to collaborate across teams
- Experience with Confluence, Word, ServiceNow, or similar documentation platforms
