Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Java Application Security Engineer will collaborate with development teams to identify and remediate application security vulnerabilities while performing technical assessments and consulting on security training.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, document, and remediate application security vulnerabilities in collaboration with development teams
- Conduct risk-based assessments and penetration tests of applications to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Consult with Development leadership on application development training and research new cybersecurity attack vectors
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of Information Technology experience, including 3+ years in Application Security Engineering
- Hands-on experience with dynamic and static application scanning tools, such as Fortify and SonarQube
- Experience integrating AI-driven code analysis platforms into CI/CD pipelines
- 5+ years in a software development role as a Developer or Architect with a strong secure coding background
