Journeyman Oracle Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support the administration and maintenance of Oracle databases in a remote capacity, the Journeyman Oracle OCI Database Administrator will manage provisioning, patching, security hardening, and troubleshooting for Oracle Database 19c/23c environments within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Key responsibilities
- Provision and administer Oracle databases on OCI platforms, including Exadata Cloud Service and Autonomous Database
- Perform routine administration tasks such as cloning, patching, upgrades, and resource management for CDBs and PDBs
- Monitor database health and performance, and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, performance, and OCI resources
Required qualifications
- Certification in DoD 8570 IAT II (e.g., Security+)
- 3-5 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred
- Working knowledge of Oracle Database 19c/23c and multitenant architecture
- Experience with Ansible for patching or infrastructure automation
