Junior Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support the data needs of the Department of War, the full-time Junior Data Engineer will collect, clean, and transform raw data into actionable insights while applying data mining and machine learning techniques in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collects, cleans, and transforms raw data into meaningful information
• Applies data mining, data modeling, and machine learning techniques to large datasets
• Supports senior data scientists in maintaining stable analytics pipelines

Required qualifications

• B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in a relevant field
• One to three years of experience using Python, SQL, R, or similar languages for data manipulation and analytics workflows
• Exposure to data-processing frameworks such as Databricks or Spark
• Understanding of analytical concepts including data mining and machine learning fundamentals
• Ability to perform data validation and support data-quality governance
