Junior System Planning Consultant
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Junior System Planning Consultant will execute Transmission Adequacy and Reliability Assessments (TARA) for clients, collaborating with utilities and regional transmission organizations to support critical infrastructure decisions and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute TARA studies for near- and long-term planning horizons, applying NERC Transmission Planning standards
- Run steady-state power flow and contingency analyses for generation and load interconnections, identifying reliability impacts
- Document study assumptions and results, ensuring they are audit-ready and defensible while communicating findings to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in transmission planning with demonstrated use of TARA software
- Strong working knowledge of NERC TPL standards and regional planning criteria
- Advanced proficiency with PSS E for planning studies
- Experience with renewable integration and inverter-based resource impacts
