Job Summary
As a fully remote, full-time Kansas Retirement Plan Specialist, the successful candidate will manage the administration, testing, and reporting of 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance and accuracy while providing support to clients throughout the year-end reporting process.
Key responsibilities
- Work with clients to collect necessary information for annual reporting and educate them on 401(k) plan administration
- Review client-submitted documents for completeness, reconcile plans, and utilize administration software for testing and reporting
- Prepare required government filings, including IRS Form 5500, and maintain proactive communication with clients during the reporting process
Required qualifications
- 1 to 5 years of experience in back-office financial operations, such as benefits administration or compliance testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Preferred direct experience with retirement-plan operations, including 401(k) administration and year-end reporting
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or finance, or equivalent work experience, is preferred
- Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred
