Job Summary
To ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance, the full-time Kentucky Licensed Coder I will abstract information and assign valid CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately abstract information and assign appropriate coding into billing systems while ensuring compliance with guidelines
- Review and resolve coding denials and complete charge sessions in assigned work queues promptly
- Maintain communication with office managers and providers, and participate in special projects as assigned
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
- 1-4 years of physician coding experience (preferred)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accredited by the AAPC (required)
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) accredited by AHIMA (required)
