Kentucky Licensed Coder I

Job Summary

To ensure accurate reimbursement, the full-time Kentucky Licensed Coder I will abstract and assign valid CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes while working remotely and managing less complex coding tasks with oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately abstract information from service documentation and assign appropriate codes into billing systems
• Review and resolve coding denials while completing charge sessions in assigned work queues timely
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and provide feedback on coding deficiencies to management

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent
• 1-4 years of physician coding experience (preferred)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accreditation by AAPC (required)
• Certification as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) by AHIMA (required)
