Job Summary

To support accurate billing processes, the full-time Kentucky Licensed Coder II will work remotely to abstract and assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and identifying educational opportunities related to coding accuracy.

Key responsibilities:
  • Accurately abstract information and assign appropriate codes into billing systems, ensuring compliance with established guidelines
  • Identify and communicate deficiencies impacting the billing process and review denials for resolution
  • Assist in training and mentoring staff while maintaining coding production and quality standards
Required qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Three years of coding experience
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist Based (CCS-P) certification from AHIMA
  • Advanced knowledge of medical coding conventions and regulatory changes
