Job Summary
To ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with coding standards, the full-time remote Kentucky Licensed Medical Coder will abstract information and assign valid CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCs codes while managing coding denials and maintaining communication with healthcare providers.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately abstract information and assign appropriate codes into billing systems to ensure compliance with guidelines
- Review and resolve coding denials while completing charge sessions in assigned work queues in a timely manner
- Provide feedback on coding reviews and maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy and security requirements
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
- One to four years of physician coding experience (preferred)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification (required)
- Certification as a Coding Specialist (CCS), Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P), or Coding Assistant (CCA) (required)
