Job Summary
To support cardiology services, a Kentucky Licensed Medical Coder will assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatient hospital professional accounts, working remotely in a part-time capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all Cardiology and Electro Physiology services based on clinical documentation
- Monitors work queues to ensure timely coding and charging of records
- Generates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC-A, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS)
- 5+ years of experience with cardiology coding using ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Intermediate experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems
