Job Summary
Responsible for thorough review of clinical documentation, the full-time Kentucky Licensed Outpatient Coder will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes for billing and compliance while working remotely from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Key responsibilities
- Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to ensure accurate coding
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for various outpatient services
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting and regulatory requirements
Required qualifications
- Current Kentucky licensure as an Outpatient Coder
- Experience in coding for emergency department, outpatient surgeries, and ancillary services
- Knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
- Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record systems
- Certification from a recognized coding organization (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA) preferred
