Job Summary
As a full-time Labor Counsel working remotely, the successful candidate will own labor and employment law for a fast-growing company, advising on compliance, policies, and claims while collaborating closely with HR and operations teams.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on worker classification and engage with employees and contractors on compliance matters
- Manage claims, demand letters, and disputes, collaborating with outside counsel on litigation
- Work with HR to build and update policies, procedures, and compliance practices
Required qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in labor and employment law, either at a law firm or in-house
- Broad background in regulatory compliance and litigation
- Real experience with worker classification
- Experience with HRIS systems is preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and practically with HR and non-lawyers
