Lead Applied Scientist
Job Summary
Leading the charge in applied AI research, the full-time remote Lead Applied Scientist will define research strategies, drive innovation in legal reasoning and document understanding, and mentor scientists while collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and align research strategies with the AI/ML roadmap across multiple product features
- Lead initiatives from early experimentation to production-ready AI capabilities
- Establish best practices and technical standards to enhance quality across Labs
Required Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in building production IR, NLP, ML, or GenAI systems
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver AI capabilities
- Deep expertise in RAG architectures and evaluation methodologies
- Publications at top-tier venues in AI-related fields
