Lead Applied Scientist, Search
Job Summary
Leading the design and development of large-scale search and information retrieval systems, the full-time remote Lead Applied Scientist, Search will manage indexing, ranking, and retrieval processes to enhance legal, tax, and accounting content delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy search architectures for large-scale content collections
- Build and optimize ingestion pipelines for document retrieval
- Develop ranking systems using both traditional and modern techniques to improve retrieval quality
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Information Retrieval, AI, Machine Learning, NLP, or a related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience in building production search and retrieval systems
- Publications in recognized venues such as SIGIR, ACL, or NeurIPS
- Strong Python skills with experience in PyTorch and distributed model development
- Expertise in search engine architecture and ranking systems
